Recreational therapy programs/services/activities for veterans, active duty, and hospitalized service men and women. Designed to improve physical, mental and emotional well-being, and to reduce depression, stress and anxiety.
Meet Angela Walker, a US Navy Airman E-3 who worked on helicopters and was a physical fitness coordinator while stationed at Naval Air Station Coronado Bay in San Diego. Angela was discharged on a medical disability. She has a mass that is pressing on her spine. As her physical situation worsened, she was not able to do the things that she loved; bowling and meeting new people. BVL was fortunate to be able to help her, we provided an IKam Ramp for her wheelchair to allow her to continue bowling.
Angela's quote, "My ramp has set me free! I am able to continue to bowl, which I love, and meet new people. Everyone should consider donating to this wonderful organization."
Angela now bowls in veteran's tournaments all over the country. She also volunteers at every event to help other veterans.
This is just one story, one veteran, your donations can positively affect the lives of our American heroes.
BVL has provided grants for recreation therapy programs and services for our veterans and active duty service members since 1942.
